ShaNah Spa Review Santa Fe

A Relaxing New Mexico Escape

By Stefanie Michaels

ShaNah Spa Review Santa Fe       For years, people have ventured to Santa Fe, to experience the regions natural beauty, explore ancient Indian culture, to rest their minds and bodies, and escape from their hectic daily lives.

Today, there is another reason to escape to Santa Fe, with the ShaNah Spa and Wellness Center. Nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, on more than 400 acres of land, this spa sets a unique standard for mind, body and spirit rituals. The ShaNah Spa and Wellness Center has received rave reviews from guests and critics alike and has recently been awarded Condé Nast Johansens' "Most Outstanding Spa" award for North America.

ShaNah Spa Review Santa Fe The spa boasts seven treatment rooms, a lounge area overlooking the Sangre de Cristos Mountains, a fitness room featuring a variety of Cybex equipment, including treadmills, stair masters, elliptical trainer, free weights, and a Cybex Weight Center. The spa's natural product boutique offers up products, such as the Eminence Organic Skin Care line and Jurlique products. The Eminence Organic Skin products are so natural, you can see the fresh fruit pulps and seeds, and smell the real herbs. The Jurlique line uses pure and natural plant based ingredients, used in the spa's facials.

ShaNah Spa Review Santa Fe ShaNah's spa treatment menu will undoubtedly please even the most discerning spa guest. The tantalizing treatment menu reads as if you are dining in a fine restaurant, and the chef is from the Cordon Blue. Staying true to local Native American traditions, the ShaNah Spa offers an eclectic menu of healing and revitalizing treatments.

Our favorite treatment is the intriguing "Desert Fusion Body Treatment". Before your session, essential oils are customized and blended and used for your massage, or the Native Stones Massage, which heated basalt river rocks are incorporated into your Swedish massage, or the Tesuque Clay Wrap, which uses a mineral rich clay masque followed by a light massage treatment, using oils infused with native herbs.

ShaNah Spa Review Santa Fe The wellness part of the program offers complete personal support. Whether you are interested in acupuncture, tarot readings, private meditation, nature hikes, yoga, personal training, or pilates, spa visitors can customize a unique spa experience, through choices of treatments, activities and consultations.

Unlike most city spas, ShaNah (meaning vitality and energy) takes advantage of its surroundings. The exterior facilities, such as the outdoor Watsu pool, is surrounded by a large outdoor patio, featuring dramatic sculptures by the late Native American artist Allan Houser. There are also two private outdoor massage portals, outdoor whirlpool, men's and women's lounges, all surrounded by a lush meditation garden.

Leave your worries behind and escape away to the ShaNah Spa... a sanctuary where you can take time out to be guided by ancient wisdom, and nurtured by Mother Nature.
