his chic line of ultra-exclusive products made its debut in the gift bags at the 75th Academy Awards. At $210.US for 2 oz of moisturizer, or $140. for 0.5 oz of eye cream, this is definitely not the cheapest option out there.
Sjal creams are inspired by Tibetan, Ayurveda and Chinese medicine and contain rare and effective ingredients from around the globe. Started by the mother-daughter team of Karen and Kristin Petrovich, their goal was to create the "ideal" moisturizing treatment to nourish and repair skin.
We found that their moisturizers, Cela Intuitif (lightweight) and Kura Intuitif (rich night cream) both add just the right amount of moisture without leaving any icky greasy residue and their subtly citrus scent is addictive (although if your skin is extra dry you may have to reapply even their Kura Intuitif several times). However, there are many other much, much cheaper options out there that smell just as good and work just as well (although they may not come in as pretty a bottle and with as unique a story).
Their Cela and Kura moisturizers do their job adequately, but Orbe, their high-priced eye cream, unfortunately did not. We found that although it does spread easily and feel silky smooth as it's being applied, it ended up making our eyes slightly puffy in the morning and didn't do anything to help with wrinkles or under-eye circles.
