Skin Care Review: Product Body
The Beauty Junkie's Natural Alternative
By Pegah Aarabi
Inspired by our inner Martha Stewart meets Sephora, each one of us has at one time or another tried an at-home skin remedy, either looked up on the net or recommended by a friend. The avocado, mango, lemon-peel and table cream formula sounded nice when your friend told you about it, but after putting in the effort of baking a cake, instead of a sweet reward, you end up looking (and smelling) like yesterday's salad. Quashing all your natural skin-healing hopes as your skin begins to itch, as if to say "I told you so".
But once the rash fades and you once again grow tired of the generic body lotions, with the same Vaseline texture, you can instead turn to an alternative natural choice that will leave you with a new found "ahh" sensation. Made by hand – yes actually made and scooped into jars like you would imagine in the 50s – with yummy lush ingredients like Shea Butter and cane sugar in scents of pink grapefruit, vanilla, mango, lemon, lavender and my personal favorite hyacinth heather (a.k.a. the smell of a bouquet of flowers).
The scrubs, thick lotions, and body washes aren't for the scent faint of heart, they will last until your next shower, and if you go for the hyacinth heather, you can imagine that someone's filled every room in your home with flowers, and then the "ahh" feeling truly sets in.
