hanel's foundations have some of the most enviable textures around, and their latest powders feel incredible since the shine from the past has been replaced by a velvety matte finish. The mascaras are all stellar and the lipsticks offer some lush textures and rich, opalescent colors.
Double Perfection Creme Powder Makeup SPF 15 ($42.00) is essentially a cream-to-powder makeup in a tube rather than a compact. This superb foundation's texture dispenses thick and somewhat creamy, but feels light and airy on skin. Few foundations of this type blend as well as this one, though it can feel slightly greasy before setting to a satin matte finish.
You can achieve light to medium coverage and the foundation features an in-part titanium dioxide sunscreen. This is best for normal to slightly oily or slightly dry skin, but be aware that this makeup can exaggerate any dry areas. Chanel launched eight shades, and all but two are excellent. Natural Beige is too ashy pink for most fair skin tones and Soft Bisque is slightly rose (though that may be OK for some medium skin tones). By the way, this is another foundation that claims to be able to control shine in oily areas while keeping dry areas perfectly hydrated. As I've stated in the past, it's a bogus claim. There is no way for a foundation to know where you're dry and where you're oily, and even if it could detect what the skin needs, it definitely cannot control where the appropriate ingredients should and shouldn't go.
