Photoshop for a Picture Perfect

With the advancement of technology, everything can possibly look so perfectly beautiful especially in the face of the media. The secret lies in the use of Photoshop. It's by editing, lightening or color correcting a picture let's say for a magazine cover .

One great example is Kelly Ripa's belly button as it mysteriously changes appearance on the different covers of a magazine where she wears a bikini on (Huffington Posts).

In comparison between the November issue of Shape, the December 2007 issue of Fitness and the May 2007 issue of Shape, Kelly's belly is noticeably different. HuffPo claims, it is airbrushed into differing degrees of "innie"-ness on each of the covers.

Now, The issue here is, does over- Photoshopping healthy for the readers to see a completely different person in the the publication and in person? Is this practice contributing to damaged body images and overall reputation of celebrities and other media talents?
