It's Lights On To David Cook's Debut Single
American Idol has discovered a lot of America's talents and brought them to the pedestal of fame. Its most recent Season 7 winner, David Cook is having the time of his life evenmore now with the premiere of his first single entitled “Light On” from his yet unnamed album. The tune was produced by Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Kid Rock) which is being released to radio this week and will be available to Itunes on September 30.

Nice "Light On" we'll be looking forward for that album..:)
The single is a disappointment. All the hype from RCA and Cook himself leading up to its release had one thinking it was gonna be something original - heck, in a recent Rolling Stone blurb, Cook even made comparisons to the material on this upcoming album to U2's The Joshua Tree and The Beatles White album... such hubris is deserving of scorn after listening to what clearly is a Cornell laced throwaway... I would much rather have Cornell singing it - then we'd have an authentic release from an authentic rocker.
Great rock anthem with a catchy chorus. Sounds great on the radio. Love it! And I think he was joking when he mentioned the Joshua Tree and White albums (I got the impression that he was poking fun at himself). He'd have to be really dumb to be serious about that, and whether you like him or not, he doesn't come across as a stupid guy).
