Spanish Star Poses Nude To Protest Against Bullfighting

In Spain, the prominent recording star Alaska poses nude with three spears stuck in her back to protest against bullfighting.

The bullfighting campaign is organized by Spain's animal rights association AnimaNaturalis and Britain's People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The Spanish star's pose is presented in a poster entitled, “The Naked Truth: Bullfighting is Cruel.”

"We need to stick some little banderillas (spears used in bullfighting) in the backs of those who think that the bull does not suffer," Alaska said. For every bullfighting, the activity is always concluded by the death of the bull used in the game after being stuck by a sword.

Alaska is a leading member of “Movida,” a socio-cultural movement that was formed in response to the repressive dictatorship of Francisco Franco from 1939 to 1975.

But the Spanish Star's campaign was responded by Spain's bullfighters with plans of an exhibition at the European Parliament in Brussels on June 4 to 5, to persuade lawmakers that the activity is valid.

If there's one sign of hope for the protest campaign of the nude Spanish Star Alaska, it's the fact that bullfighting is not anymore popular to the younger generation of Spain.
