The Little Pink Dress Trend
Ever since last summer and even through the winter, jeans got skinnier and hems got higher. But the recent runway trend, according to The Daily, is the Little Pink Dress. This spring, the blush color is clearly the rage amongst designers like Michael Kors and Prada.
But Thakoon Panichgul has been identified as the main inspiration for the little pink dress or LPD trend. “Le petit prince of pink has made a point of not taking the hue’s precious side too far, demonstrating both the dainty and daring sides of the shade by contrasting its lightness with fabrics like taffeta and satin.”
The LPD is being flaunted on red carpets by celebs like Lydia Hearst, Doutzen Kroes and Chloë Sevigny. From pastel prints to flowy frocks, its the new must-buy dress this spring. So don’t put away that little black dress of yours yet, just make space for your new pink one!

Who says fashion isn't dangerously controversial?
During the 1970s, the German Red Army considered kidnapping the fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld. Lagerfeld, who came from a wealthy family and was also a formidable figure in the fashion world, would have been a great candidate for ransom (don't get ideas there!).
Thankfully they didn't, for who knows what the fashion world would be like now without Karl Lagerfeld?

Long Legs are Back in Style, For those Lucky Few
After seasons of modesty and long Edwardian-style flowing dresses, showing off your gams is back in style!
Great for some of you lucky femme fatales with gorgeous legs, but not so great for those of us who'd rather cover in up in layers of tulle and pretend we've got great thighs and calves underneath.
After all, I'm just too modest to show off my great legs in these short shorts and miniskirts. Of course, that's why.

Have astonomers discovered ET's home?
European astronomers have discovered what appears to be the first planet outside Earth’s solar system with the capacity to harvest life.
The currently unnamed planet has similar characteristics such as size and temperature to Earth. The core of the planet is estimated to be between zero and 40 degrees Celsius, making it warm enough to be comprised of water, and thus possessing the potential to be habitable.
“Liquid water is critical to life as we know it and because of its temperature and relative proximity, this planet will most probably be a very important target of the future space missions dedicated to the search for extra-terrestrial life,” Xavier Delfosse of Grenoble University in France announced in a press conference in Germany today. “On the treasure map of the universe, one would be tempted to mark this planet with an X.”
The potential new astronaut hot spot is predicted to have a surface either rocky like Earth’s or covered in oceans.
So we have a newly discovered planet similar to earth, with astronauts and scientists alike talking about how there is a good chance there may actually be life on this planet…is it possible they have just found ET’s home? Somebody call Spielberg and book a sequel!

Yacht in the Sea without a Crew
Off of the Australian coast, a yacht has been found with a computer running and the table set up for a meal...but no people.
The boat is in fine condition, but the three-person crew is missing. The GPS system has been retrieved in order to analyze any possibilities of the crew's whereabouts. However, one sail is badly shredded and the weather earlier this week had not been too good.
With forensic examination, hopefully the lost crew will be found. The pirate stories of the past aren't true on the Australian coast anymore... but how do you explain these three disappearances on a yacht?

Miss America 1944 Stops Intruder while Armed
Venus Ramey, 82, the crowned Miss America of 1944 who was awarded this title for her singing, dancing, and comedic talents proves that she is more than a 1940s pin-up girl.
On her farm in Kentucky, she shot the tires of a man who was thieving on her property. The man said that he'd leave, but she shot his tires so he couldn't leave.
The man was arrested for trespassing, but Venus Ramey proves to be more than a picture of a young women on a B-17 during World War II.

Yamamoto Designs for Mikimoto
Jewelry house Mikimoto has teamed up with fashion designer Yojhi Yamamoto to design a 20-piece collection based around Mikimoto's well known specialty, the pearl.
This is the first time that Mikimoto has collaborated with another fashion designer, but many other designers such as Vera Wang have already worked with Mikimoto to design their own pearl jewelry.
Nowadays, working together seems to be the norm. With designers working with mass retailers such as Target and Nine West to create clothing that are accessible to the public, it only seems logical that the same designers are creating their own jewelry too.

'Apprentice' Contestant in Playboy Magazine
Kristine Lefebvre, a contestant on 'The Apprentice' who failed to snag a job with Donald Trump has found another lucrative deal: appearing in Playboy.
The attorney, who has helped Pamela Anderson negotiate deals with Playboy, is a cancer survivor who hopes to use this publicity with Playboy to support others with the disease.
It's a refreshing break from the typical adult stars often photographed in Playboy magazines... I'm sure the men will agree too.

Sayonara Sanjaya
It seems as though www.votefortheworst.com and Howard Stern's efforts to place Sanjaya in the top three have been thwarted by the real American Idol voters. All I can say is it's about time! Where have you been?
When the result was announced Wednesday night, Malakar wiped away tears and got a big hug from LaKisha Jones, the next lowest vote-getter. "I'm fine," he told Ryan Seacrest. "It was an amazing experience." "I can promise you: We won't soon forget you," Seacrest replied. Malakar then performed one last song, "Something To Talk About." Putting his own twist on the song, the 17-year-old known for his pretty looks and ever-changing hairstyles ad-libbed: "Let's give them something to talk about ... other than hair."
Six contestants are now left: Jones, Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks, Chris Richardson, Melinda Doolittle and Phil Stacey.
Don't worry though Sanjaya fans I'm sure with all his teenage supporters he will end up on the Disney Channel soon enough.Labels: Celebrity

As a complete Disney Princess fanatic and romantic, I am completely obsessed with Disney's new couture line of wedding gowns, based off of each of the Disney Princesses.

Disturbing Writings
The gunman at Virginia Tech, who shot and killed 33 people (including himself) on Monday, has a series of obscene and violent screenplays he wrote as an English major. In his writings, attacks with chainsaws and sexual assaults were only some of the elements of the plot. He was a loner and the authorities are having trouble digging up information about the gunman.
Yet, in spite of the media frenzy over the gunman, the 32 innocent students of Virginia Tech who were killed are remember each night in group prayers and memorials at the college.

Larry Birkhead is late Anna Nicole Smith's Baby's Dad
California photographer Larry Birkhead has been confirmed to be the late Anna Nicole Smith's baby's biological father through DNA testing.
Yet, the father on the birth certificate is Howard Stern. Stern is supporting Birkhead as the father though, and states that he still carries for the baby.
Scandal doesn't disappear after Anna Nicole Smith's death but hopefully, this will lead to better things for the little baby.

Skin and Bones Not Sexy?
Few men seem to be fantasying about having sex with Kate Moss. For the first time in a decade Moss will not make the FHM annual list of the top 100 sexiest women in the world. Last year she managed to rank only 87th. FHM spokesman Dan Cooper was quoted as saying: "She hasn't looked great as of late .... I think the average guy on the street prefers someone that's a little more womanly." Although the final vote has not been tallied glamour model Keeley Hazell is expected to top the list - and yet somehow I can't see her becoming a Karl Lagerfeld favorite as his "curvy" alternative.

David Beckham Increases Competition in Looks and Soccer
Soccer heartthrob David Beckham's presence, who will be playing in the United States soon with Los Angeles Galaxy, may pressure other athletes to reinvent their image and groom themselves a bit more than usual. With David Beckham here, American athletes may need to work harder to get on par with him. No, not at soccer. Source: [Link]Labels: Celebrity, Sports
France Rejects Ban on Too Skinny Models
Unlike Brazil or Italy, France will not ban too skinny models from the catwalk. Instead, a voluntary charter will be introduced to raise awareness of the health risks of being too thin. France claims that its restrictions are tough enough, and will not introduce new measures.
However, there are still concerns left in the Paris fashion industry. For example, many Parisian fashion designers prefer their models to be as skinny as possible, and thus these girls are forced to maintain the lowest weight that they can.
'Can' and 'should' are two very different things. While these models can maintain an emaciated figure...should they for the sake of their health?
