Have astonomers discovered ET's home?
European astronomers have discovered what appears to be the first planet outside Earth’s solar system with the capacity to harvest life. The currently unnamed planet has similar characteristics such as size and temperature to Earth. The core of the planet is estimated to be between zero and 40 degrees Celsius, making it warm enough to be comprised of water, and thus possessing the potential to be habitable.
“Liquid water is critical to life as we know it and because of its temperature and relative proximity, this planet will most probably be a very important target of the future space missions dedicated to the search for extra-terrestrial life,” Xavier Delfosse of Grenoble University in France announced in a press conference in Germany today. “On the treasure map of the universe, one would be tempted to mark this planet with an X.”
The potential new astronaut hot spot is predicted to have a surface either rocky like Earth’s or covered in oceans.
So we have a newly discovered planet similar to earth, with astronauts and scientists alike talking about how there is a good chance there may actually be life on this planet…is it possible they have just found ET’s home? Somebody call Spielberg and book a sequel!
